Back to Back housing - Birmingham
The Back to Backs tell the story of the ordinary people that made Birmingham an extraordinary city.
The houses have now been carefully restored to reflect the lives of four different families who lived and worked in the houses during their 200 year history. From the Levy family in the 1840's who worked as watch-makers, to tailor George Saunders, in the late 20th century.
Price & Oliver helped the project Architects to source malleable iron door furniture, rim locks and other fittings that are historically accurate. In some cases the products were still manufactured by the original suppliers.
